The Vision

The idea for Echoes in the Hills arose spontaneously when the opportunity emerged to host a traveling Dutch artist at Freedom Ville. In that moment, the concept took form: an evening where music and nature merge, where artists and guests dine together as equals, and where the magic of live performance is stripped back to its rawest, most intimate essence.

Over time, this event will evolve into something even deeper—a space where world-renowned artists, who often lose touch with intimacy as their careers grow, can reconnect with the purity of performing for a small, present, and engaged audience. This is not about commercial success; it is about music for the sake of music, about rekindling the joy of shared creation.

The Experience

Each edition of Echoes in the Hills follows a simple yet profound formula:

 A Live Performance in an Intimate Setting
Each edition features an artist carefully selected from both local and international talent—ranging from emerging voices to well-established names in the music industry. The focus is on authenticity, connection, and presence. No stage barriers, no hierarchy—just artist and audience experiencing the moment together.

 A Shared Dinner, A Shared Table
Before the concert, guests and artists gather around a long table to share a three-course buffet-style surprise dinner, each time prepared by a different guest chef. The meal itself becomes part of the experience—an opportunity for conversation, exchange, and inspiration. Artists blend in as fellow humans rather than being placed on a pedestal. No idolization, no groupie culture—just mutual respect, appreciation, and creativity.

 A Bonfire & Open Jam Session
After the performance, the evening extends into the night around a glowing bonfire. Local musicians and guests are invited to join in a spontaneous jam session, creating a fluid, open-ended continuation of the night’s magic. These moments of improvisation and shared creativity often become the most memorable part of the evening.

 An Invitation to Stay
Artists aren’t just invited to play—they’re invited to stay. Each performer is offered the opportunity to become an artist-in-residence, immersing themselves in the serene atmosphere of Freedom Ville for a few days or weeks. Here, they can find inspiration in nature, compose new work, and engage in a slower, more reflective rhythm than the typical touring lifestyle allows. Some may even leave behind songs written within these very hills.
